As a Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for physical on-site observation, documentation, and verification of construction projects within the Chicagoland area to assess and ensure compliance with applicable contract plans and specifications, and applicable codes and regulations. Typical project assignments include asphalt and concrete paving, structural concrete, retaining and barrier walls, barricades, guardrails, fences, utilities, sewer systems, earthwork, and bridge construction. The position will require passing the IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities course . A valid Illinois driver's license and Personal Protective Equipment (steel-toe work boots, work pants, work shirt, prescription safety glasses, cold-weather gear, and hearing protection) will be required of the applicant.
