Recovery 1, a Waste Connections company, has an immediate opening for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to support our recycling, composting, and disposal operations serving the Tacoma and surrounding South Sound areas. This role is ideal for a skilled diesel mechanic seeking stable, long-term employment in a safety-focused, team-oriented environment. Our mechanics play a critical role in keeping essential equipment operating safely and efficiently every day. Pay & Schedule: - Pay Range: $38.00–$45.00 per hour, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications - Schedule: Monday – Friday 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM, averaging 3-10 hours of overtime per week Key Responsibilities: - Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment - Conduct safety checks and routine inspections on vehicles and equipment - Review, troubleshoot, and complete repairs noted on Operator Vehicle Inspection Reports (OVIRs) - Perform maintenance-related work as assigned - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards - Follow all established safety procedures at all times - Communicate equipment conditions, repair needs, and work status clearly and e...
