Description Registered Nurse Essential Job Functions: - Provides direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations. - Addresses the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. - Ability to interact and respond with various patient behaviors in a therapeutic, gentle and friendly manner - Communicates reassurances and explanations consistently - Adapts nursing procedures to meet the needs for treatment of various types of patients - Identifies physical symptoms and changes and takes appropriate action in a timely manner - Ability to assess cardiorespiratory systems for changes in patient condition and respond appropriately - Observes behavioral and physiologic changes due to medications; takes appropriate actions - Carries out surgical asepsis during treatments and special procedures and uses PPE. - Uses appropriate techniques for safe administration of medications and parenteral fluids. - Demonstrates knowledge of anesthetic drugs, actions, and side effects. - Medicates postoperative patient as needed after pain assessment and evaluation of patient’s condition. - Counts narcotics at the beginning and end of each day w...
