Description Job Summary: Assist with office based procedures following aseptic technique, hand off instruments, assist with obtaining, labeling and sending specimens, perform low and high level disinfection procedures, perform POC testing, enter orders into computer. Room patients, set up exam/ procedure rooms. Responsible for performing routine and more complex medical assistant clinical duties to include, but not limited to, taking vital signs, administering a limited number of medication per Emory Clinic approved policy, performing simple diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms in an outpatient care setting. Assists physicians and APP's with patients, equipment preparation, aseptic technique and surgical procedures in the exam/procedure room. Prepares the exam/ procedure room by assembling routine supplies, materials, instruments and equipment; obtains special supplies indicated by physician.
