Job description

The Alma Mater Society (AMS) is the University of British Columbia’s (UBC) student society, and works to improve the academic, social and personal lives of the 56,000 UBC students at its Vancouver campus. The AMS also runs nine food and beverage outlets, a catering and conference operation, and the AMS Student Nest, providing on-campus employment opportunities and generating revenue that goes directly back into supporting the students at UBC. Position title: Vice President, Student Life (Interim) Reports to: AMS President & Council Employee status: Temporary Full-time, Salaried, Appointed Length of term: June 1, 2026 – September 2026 (by-election to be held) Hours per week: 37.5 hours per week Compensation: $46,700.00 per annum (pro-rated) Position Purpose: The Vice President, Student Life (Interim) is responsible for advancing student engagement, campus spirit, and holistic wellbeing through the strategic development and delivery of events, orientation programming, first-year initiatives, and mental health supports.
