Job description

Medical Assistants provide excellent customer service while enhancing patient visits by working in collaboration with care team members to support the maintenance and delivery of high-quality healthcare services. This position performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep EVCHC’s clinical operations running smoothly. MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS: - Responsible for patient’s vitals including blood pressure, weight, height, temperature, pulse, and history of present illness - Documents chief complaints as stated by the patient - Provides immunizations, draws blood, and performs hematocrit and other basic tests when requested by clinicians - Calls in medication to pharmacy and administers medication as ordered by medical providers - Receives related telephone calls and triages appropriately, including managing patient messages per protocol or medical provider instructions - Review all forms to ensure that charts are completed after each patient visit. - Responsible for providing final instruction and patient education as directed by medical providers. - Assists and/or completes additional tasks as assigned.
