Staff Accountant - Cost (1st Shift, NTN Driveshaft Anderson/Anderson, IN)

Job description

Position Summary: Responsible for Cost Accounting and Budgeting. Focus is on Inventory, Standard Costs, Manufacturing, Intercompany Purchases and department budgets. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Assists in developing and maintaining standard costs for all inventory items; performs new item cost roll-ups, ensuring accurate bills of materials and work center rates. - Maintains accurate inventory records and participates in semi-annual physical inventories. - Performs monthly inventory reconciliation of general ledger to JDE Cardex detail. - Performs monthly in-transit inventory reconciliation for products coming from Japan and China. - Provides management with spending, scrap and variance analysis (materials, labor and overhead). - Participates in annual budgeting process and monthly actual to budget spending report to department managers. - Creates journal entries, including recurring and reversing entries related to intercompany transactions and balance confirmation. - Performs work order manufacturing and variance accounting transaction throughout the month, and particularly at month-end to ensure accurate cutoff of transactions into the JDE general ledger. - Assists i...
