CHEM 533: Polymer Chemistry: The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to lecture CHEM 533: Polymer Chemistry. - Position: Lecturer - Academic Year - Semester: Fall 2026 - Day/Time: Tuesdays 5:00 p.m. to 6:50 p.m. - Modality: In-person - College: College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics - Department: Chemistry & Biochemisty Course description: Introduces the basics of polymer synthesis. Traditional polymerization techniques, such as free-radical, anionic chain, and step-growth polymerization, as well as newer methods of polymer synthesis will be discussed. Preparation of advanced block, star and brush copolymers, semi-conducting and biodegradable polymers, and the fundamentals of structure and physical properties of polymers, and methods of characterization will also be covered. Minimum qualifications: - A Master of Science in Chemistry - Experience teaching chemistry at the college level - Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California.
