This requires the use of human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and different them into various brain cells such as neurons, astrocytes and microglia, and perform molecular, biochemical, and cell biological analyses. Job Duties: - Lead independent research projects. - Develop and characterize human iPSC lines related to Alzheimer's disease and investigate the key processes during disease progression. - Utilize the following techniques: CRISPR/CAS9 mutagenesis, qPCR, transfection, infection, Western blotting, immunostaining, and flow cytometry. - Support projects conducted by other investigators in the laboratory by providing the iPSC lines, and assisting with flow cytometry work. - Train lab personnel on how to culture, differentiate, and characterize the iPSC lines. - Create and present presentations at lab meetings and local and national conferences, prepare manuscripts for publication, and train rotation students. - Perform other job related duties as assigned.
