Description Everyone knows the pool is the coolest place to be. Join our Aquatics Team to make sure everyone can enjoy the pool in a safe and welcoming environment. Whether you’re a lifeguard, a swim instructor, or a little bit of both, you’re going to love working in aquatics at the Y because you’re helping swimmers feel confident and gain experience in the water. No experience? No problem, we’ll train you! Starting at $12.00 per hour: POSITION DESCRIPTION: To provide leadership to all instructional areas of the Aquatic Program, while maintaining safety of all program participants. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Must be mentally alert to dangerous situations in order to assure safety of all swimmers. - Must be able to move with the use of both arms and legs and to properly use aquatic equipment to rescue a 200-pound person. - Must posses a cooperative spirit committed to character development by promoting and demonstrating caring, honesty, respect and responsibility to staff, lay leaders, YMCA members, program participants and the general public. - Must enjoy working with youth of all ages and abilities. - Ability to relate to pool patrons in a positive manner. - All instructional...
