Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center, Hartford CT Trinity Health Of New England is looking for an experienced Histotechnician Specialty Stains to join our team of mission-driven healthcare innovators. You would be responsible for performing routine and non-routine activities involved in histologic preparations. Troubleshoots minor equipment failures, prepares reagents, solutions, and control slides. Performs Special Staining procedures. Prepares reports and ensures that quality control criteria are approved by the pathologist. May provide training and modification of SOP’s pertaining to Special Stains. What You Will Do: Orienting and embedding processed histological tissue. Performs routine and non-routine activities involved in the preparation of slides for microscopic evaluation by pathologist(s), according to policies and procedures. Maintains and performs special stains for histologic differentiation of selected tissue elements, entities and microorganisms providing valuable information to pathologists in the evaluation of numerous abnormal or disease conditions.
