Job description

Position Summary: The Meter Reader is an entry level position under the direction of a designated supervisor, performs the reading of residential and commercial electric, gas, and water meters and interfaces with the general public on a daily basis. Essential Functions: - Work meter service orders, inspection electrical installations for hazardous conditions that may exist and report any problems to the proper department. - Work termination orders for nonpayment. - Procure re-read and unread meter readings for the billing of meter routes. - Be courteous, presenting an image of professionalism to the customer. - Serve as a communication link between the customer and CDE. - Respect the customer’s property. - Comply with all applicable safety rules and requirements. - Function effectively during adverse or inclement weather conditions. - Any other work assigned by a designated supervisor required for the successful performance of work. - Maintain assigned vehicle in clean, safe working order by daily inspection and routine care. - Do required paperwork in legible fashion. - Attend routine training classes and seminars. - Willing to learn geography for CDE service area as the area deve...
