Job description

Under the direction of the medical center's Engineering Supervisor of Construction, the Construction Mechanic I is responsible for the implementation of the medical center's in-house construction projects. With expertise is 3 major construction trades, and familiarity with all phases of construction, is directly involved with the projects from demolition to the installation of finishes. Core Competencies: - Works with the Construction Supervisor on new construction projects to insure that proposed new additions or changes meet medical center standards. - Ensures all newequipment purchases fit into the medical center system or is modified to do so by being involved with the capital purchase process. - Demonstrates familiarity with plumbing, electrical, and air conditioning trades to ensure that the installa­tion process is properly following the guidelines as laid out by the Construction Supervisor, and Director of Engineering. - Demonstrates familiarity with tools, materials, codes, industry practices, safety procedures, and installation methods to properly install wall and ceiling framing, drywall installation, mechanical bracing and support systems, and door fr­ame installation t...
