Job description
Under the direction of the medical center's Engineering Supervisor of Construction, the Construction Mechanic I is responsible for the implementation of the medical center's in-house construction projects. With expertise is 3 major construction trades, and familiarity with all phases of construction, is directly involved with the projects from demolition to the installation of finishes. Core Competencies: - Works with the Construction Supervisor on new construction projects to insure that proposed new additions or changes meet medical center standards. - Ensures all newequipment purchases fit into the medical center system or is modified to do so by being involved with the capital purchase process. - Demonstrates familiarity with plumbing, electrical, and air conditioning trades to ensure that the installation process is properly following the guidelines as laid out by the Construction Supervisor, and Director of Engineering. - Demonstrates familiarity with tools, materials, codes, industry practices, safety procedures, and installation methods to properly install wall and ceiling framing, drywall installation, mechanical bracing and support systems, and door frame installation t...
