Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary: The Verma lab in the Department of Medicine is seeking a Research Technician II. Our group studies the causes and consequences of the DNA damage response in cancer. More specifically, our interests include understanding the molecular mechanisms dictating responses to chemotherapeutics that target DNA damage, decoding how cancer cells deal with challenges to DNA replication, and identifying the endogenous DNA lesions that fuel genomic instability in BRCA-mutant cancers. Our research integrates cutting-edge CRISPR genetic screen approaches with various other molecular, cell biology and computational tools. This is a great opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of cancer biology in a highly supportive environment. Enthusiasm for science along with good organization and communication skills are essential. Assists with the technical aspects of studies and experiments, including documentation and preparation of materials.
