Worker Type Regular: Job Description: This summer internship opportunity seeks an undergraduate student majoring in electronics, materials engineering, or physics with experience in thin film material deposition and materials characterization. This work would support the scientists located at the Wright Patternson AirForce base in the Air Force Research labs, thus U.S. Citizenship is required. The candidate perform 2D material sample fabrication (substrate prep, mechanical exfoliation, optical contrast characterization) and characterization including Raman spectroscopy, photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy, and atomic force microscopy (AFM) for various ferroic 2D materials. A background in condensed matter physics, materials science and engineering are preferred and experience with AFM, Raman, and/or PL characterization is a plus.
