Job description

Summary Responsible for assisting Environmental Health Specialists control vectors of communicable diseases such as mosquitoes. Salary : $15.50/hr. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned . Collect mosquito samples for disease testing and surveillance. Apply mosquito larvae control chemicals/biologicals to standing water. Respond to other citizen vector concerns as directed. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) No experience required: Forty hours of in-house training on vector control activities Valid Class C Texas driver's license Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Preferred Qualifications: Education/ Experience: 6 months experience with vector control and surveillance activities such as larviciding, adulticiding, and sample collection Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of basic biological and chemical principals Ability to work under moderate stress and relate well to a highly varied community public Licenses and Certifications: Forty hours of in-house training on vector control activiti...
