Description Basic Function: Sets-up and operates GMAW (MIG) equipment on mild steel, aluminum and stainless according to blueprints and shop drawings. Responsibilities and Duties: - Reads work orders and parts lists. - Works from blueprints given in work orders. - Demonstrated proficiency in welding. Determines material type and thickness of weld wire to use. - Sets-up welding equipment per material type listed on work order. Welds weldments per work order and blueprints. - Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products prior to welding. - Uses basic power hand tools and grinders to clean up weld work e.g. de-burring, clean weld splatter. - Completes a visual inspection of welded assemblies. - Supports the Hartzell Culture initiatives and displays and portrays the Hartzell Values. - Follows all safety practices and rules. - Maintains clean and safe working environment in line with company policies. - Support and completes other duties given by team leader as necessary.
