Applies scientific principles to prevent, identify, and treat acute or chronic dysfunction of the cardiopulmonary system, ensuring best patient outcomes. Authorized to access the unit medication rooms or bedside medication drawers in order to retrieve medications they are authorized to administer. Job Description: Essential Functions: - Applies knowledge of the scientific principles underlying cardiopulmonary physiology and pathophysiology, as well as biomedical engineering and technology. - Offers effective preventative care to, as well as assess, educate, and treat patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies. - Practices Respiratory Care under medical direction across the health care continuum.
