Engineering Manager, DevOps Tooling & Developer Experience

Job description

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team within our Infrastructure & Production group. DevOps Tooling & Developer Experience (Vulcan) spearheads our cloud developer experience, builds tools that build the tools and owns our big data platforms & pipelines. We believe in automating our infrastructure as much as possible and pursuing challenging problems in a sustainable and repeatable way. Currently, our infrastructure processes petabytes of data every month through hundreds of servers and we are moving towards a Hybrid Cloud environment where we utilize the best of both worlds to build scalable production and development environments. We work on many aspects of developer tooling at Smartly.io, from CI (we use GitHub Actions mostly) to our own development environment management tool (Devbox) that manages development environments for developers. We are helping other Smartly developers to be more effective in their day-to-day work. As an Engineering Manager, you will be in charge of getting the best out of people, through coaching, 1:1s, helping them build a development plan and in general removing blockers from the team's path.
