POSITION SUMMARY: To support patient safety and the hospital’s medication management system through the preparation, verification and supply of medications. QUALIFICATIONS: RESPONSIBILITIES: - Successful completion of a Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program, OR graduation from an OCP recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program - Current registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a registered Part-A Pharmacy Technician - Previous hospital experience is preferred - Experience with hospital and KROLL computer systems will be an asset - Typing, computer experience, aseptic technique, pharmaceutical arithmetic, and knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology - Demonstrated exactness and attention to detail in the performance of technical tasks - Able to communicate and cooperate with co-workers in a team oriented environment - Able to recognize professional limitations and refer all matters requiring clinical judgement to a pharmacist or appropriate health care professional - Must be flexible and able to adapt to change in a fast paced, constantly evolving department - Good attendance and work reco...
