About the role Mater Pathology has an exciting opportunity for a Scientist to join our Transfusion team! This role will be offered as a 12-month maximum term contract, working a 22.8 hours per week with flexibility to choose days that suit you best. The role will primarily involve out-of-hours coverage between 3:00pm and 6:30am, Monday to Sunday. To support ongoing competency, you may also be required to work occasional day shifts, including weekends. Reporting to the Supervising Scientist, you will be based at our South Brisbane campus within the main Transfusion laboratory. The purpose of the role is to deliver a high quality and cost-effective diagnostic service on behalf of Mater Pathology within the Transfusion department, supplying operational direction utilising contemporary technology and best practice standards, for clinicians and their patients. This position requires a well-developed level of scientific knowledge, operational experience and skills to provide operational testing for blood and blood related products within the Laboratory.
