Overview POSITION TITLE (Oracle title): ROUTING SPECIALIST WORKING TITLE: Routing Specialist - Non-Special Education Transportation SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT: Transportation: LOCATION: Crossroads III, Cary, NC: PAY GRADE: Noncertified Grade 29: FLSA STATUS: Nonexempt: ELIGIBILITY FOR EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT: No: WORK WEEK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday (occasional evenings and weekends) Position is eligible for hybrid telework workweek POSITION PURPOSE: Utilizes the Transportation Information Management System (TIMS), a Geographic Information System (GIS) based computer-assisted school bus routing system, to develop non-Special Education transportation bus stops, runs, and routes. Applies Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) Board policies and departmental practices to provide efficient and on time services to students. Uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) based Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) system to ensure stops, runs, and routes are successful; conducts audits to verify efficiency success.
