Description The College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track lecturer position in bioinformatics for UMBC's newly launched bachelor’s degree in Translational Life Science Technology (TLST). This position is located at UMBC’s branch campus in Rockville, Maryland at The Universities at Shady Grove. RESPONSIBILITIES: As full-time teaching faculty, the incumbent will be responsible for teaching classes related to bioinformatics in the TLST program such as statistics, translational bioinformatics, and life science software applications. The TLST curriculum is designed to align with the growing field of translational science which is the process of turning a scientific discovery into a life-saving solution while addressing critical workforce needs of the biotechnology industry. This is UMBC’s first undergraduate STEM program being offered at The Universities at Shady Grove near the growing biotechnology industry hub in Montgomery County, Maryland.
