Assembly Technician III

Job description

Overview Technician Level III must assemble, align, test, and calibrate electro- and/or opto-mechanical subassemblies and instruments. Assemble intricate electro- and/or opto-mechanical assemblies with precision tools and fixturing. Integrate the electro- and/or opto-mechanical components and assemblies with state-of-the-art computers to perform the final system qualification and inspection. Troubleshoot subassemblies, finished units, and/or production opto-mechanical assemblies and repair as necessary, all under the direction of the Production Manager. Responsibilities: - Perform assembly operations on opto-mechanical parts - Package assemblies and subassemblies - Troubleshoot Simple and Complex Builds - Troubleshoot test beds - Train and assist others on Tech I & II skills, as required - Train others on equipment operation and manufacturing concepts - Perform visual inspections for obvious damage or defects - Assist Machine Shop with design and fabrication of Assembly fixtures & tools - Assist Project Management/Engineering with prototypes; provide feedback of designs and ways to improve - Assist in writing work instructions and procedures - Lead LEAN & 5S initiatives - Perform l...
