Overview Element has an opportunity for a Metallurgy Technician whose primary responsibility is to perform routine metallurgical, mechanical, failure, and corrosion testing to support metallurgy operations within the laboratory setting. Salary: $27.88- $31.73/hr DOE: Responsibilities: - Read and apply specifications, procedures, drawings, and sketches to accurately prepare and test specimens.• Conduct corrosion tests, heat treatments, and hardness tests (Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers, microhardness) following established procedures.• Safely perform sectioning, mounting, grinding, polishing, and chemical etching for metallurgical evaluations.• Use and maintain laboratory equipment and tools, demonstrating proficiency with a range of devices for analysis and collection.• Maintain traceability, client confidentiality, and adhere to 5S protocols, safety standards, quality requirements and accreditations.• Utilize computer systems and specialized software to record, analyze, and report test data.• Work closely with managers and team members, provide regular updates, and support junior colleagues when needed.• Handle moderately complex issues independently and escalate more complicated prob...
