Description Whittier College invites applications from interested and qualified candidates for a one-semester adjunct position to teach one section of Approaches to Social Research (SOWK 310) and Lab (310L) and Social Welfare Policy and Services (SOWK 364) SOWK 310 is a four-credit course for Social Work majors that includes a lab working with SPSS (conducted during regular class hours). SOWK 364 is a three credit course with no lab component. This appointment will be for one semester. Teaching load : 7 credit hours. The course is online with synchronous meetings scheduled from 3pm-4:15 pm Pacific Standard Time. Course dates are from 10/26/2020 thru 12/11/2020 plus finals. Adjunct faculty are paid $1550 per teaching credit. *All positions are subject a background check and final approval by the VPAA and Dean of Faculty. Qualifications: Approaches to Social Research is aimed at Social Work majors who have taken statistics as a pre-requisite. Techniques for basic and applied social research is the emphasis.
