Child Development Center Teacher Position Brief Description of Position: Provide a nurturing, inclusive educational program for preschool children in order to prepare them to be successful in Kindergarten. Under the supervision of the Director of the Child Development Program, the teacher provides a developmental program based on principles of child growth and development for preschool children. Roles and Responsibilities: Children Services 1. Provide teacher guided and child initiated learning experiences in language and literacy, social and emotional development, cognitive and critical thinking, math concepts, science, art and physical education, utilizing the California Department of Education Preschool Learning Foundations. Develop and plan activities for all children that are individualized as well as culturally relevant. 2. Set up and maintain indoor and outdoor environment in accordance with ECERS. Ensure that the environment meets individual, cultural and educational needs of preschool children.
