Term Faculty Position in Audio Technology

Description The Department of Performing Arts in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for a term faculty appointment in Audio Technology for Academic Year 2019-2020. Rank will be dependent on experience and stature in the field. The appointment is a 9-month term position and will commence on September 1, 2019. This is primarily a teaching position so demonstrated experience and excellence in teaching is expected. The position is renewable, pending budget approval. An advanced degree in an audio-related field is required (MFA, MA, MM, DMA, or PhD). Candidates with a non­terminal masters and significant industry experience will be considered. Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in music recording and mixing, sound for visual media, critical listening, digital audio workstations, and other audio production related topics. All faculty are expected to hold office hours and participate in Department and University activities and service. Salary is competitive.
