What You’ll Do: The Captain serves as a line officer responsible for directing fire suppression, emergency medical services (EMS), rescue operations, and other emergency responses. The Captain acts as a shift supervisor overseeing personnel, ensuring operational readiness of equipment and apparatus, enforcing departmental policies, and supporting the Fire Chief in administrative and operational functions. Operational Command: - Command emergency incidents when first-arriving officer until relieved by a higher-ranking officer. - Direct fire suppression, EMS, rescue, and hazardous materials response activities. - Ensure compliance with Incident Command System (ICS) protocols. - Coordinate with law enforcement and mutual aid partners.
