Job description

Position Summary The Charge Analyst accurately charges for hospital procedural departments, audits charges, assures the integrity of the MRN, posts charge corrections/transfers for patient accounts. Performs a variety of data collection, scheduling, cross departmental coverage and support functions within the hospital procedural areas according to established guidelines and procedures. - Completes accurate and timely documentation based charging (within a maximum of 2 days post visit) for hospital procedural departments and has thorough knowledge of the charging functions within hospitals charging systems. - Verifies/reconciles charge activity in hospital patient accounting system. - Responsible for data collection and reporting in procedural departments used for ongoing operational evaluation of efficiency and flow. - Identifies any charge posting process errors. Works directly with hospital clinical/operational staff to ensure integrity, accuracy and timely charging.
