Job Title Laboratory Chemist Position Overview: Shaw Industries is hiring an Entry Level Chemist will develop proficiency through hands-on experience with the operation and analysis of materials using analytical techniques available to the Central Laboratory; this includes but is not limited to High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry, Gas Chromatography, Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Ultraviolet, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, Thermogravimetric Analysis, Thermomechanical Analysis, and Inductively Coupled Plasma. Also included are various wet chemistry techniques like pH, viscosity, titration, decomposition/hydrolysis, etc. This position will work with laboratory personnel to complete testing requests related to quality control, quality investigations, and research and development. Primary Responsibilities: Prepare and analyze samples using various analytical instruments (e.g., GC/MS, HPLC, FTIR, DSC, ICP).
