JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical Expertise - Perform routine procedures of a Medical Lab Scientist, including collecting and analyzing data, which will affect decisions regarding patient care. Maintain working knowledge of procedures and strong technical proficiency. Participates in patient testing as needed to meet the needs of the department. Assists and supports technical staff with routine testing, preventive maintenance, technical studies, and troubleshooting. Supports innovation through new test development and implementation of new testing platforms. Lab Operations - Ensure quality in all aspects of the laboratory operation, coordinating and collaborating with leadership regarding all testing and reporting issues. Aid in the selection of appropriate methodologies, verification of procedures, and establishment of performance characteristics. Ensure procedure manuals are current, available, and reviewed annually and all employees are educated and trained on all revisions. Personnel Management & Development - Supervise reporting personnel.
