Job Description Hours: Full-Time - 35 Hours: Work Location: 30-30 Thomson Avenue, LIC, NY 11101 The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Law Division seeks an Assistant General Counsel. Under the supervision and direction of the General Counsel, First Deputy General Counsel and DDC’s management team, the attorney interne will be expected to conduct various types of legal work as in-house counsels, including but not limited to: 1) review and revise professional, construction, and design-build contract documents and communicate contract approval and public procurement requirements to the agency’s construction and design divisions; 2) perform litigation support activities and commercial claims analysis for matters pending with the NYC Law Department and the NYC Comptroller’s Office; 3) review agency responses to the public pursuant to the Freedom of Information Law (“FOIL”) and coordinate agency responses to the public in coordination with the agency’s public relations office; 4) evaluate and provide legal guidance on conflicts of interest related matters to agency staff and management; 5) assist with the review of real property issues that impact the agency’s construction effor...
