Dialysis Patient Care Tech - Carole Young - Full-Time - ( 2602785 ) Description The mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD). JOB SUMMARY: Provides direct patient care in a dialysis setting and supports licensed staff in the delivery of patient care within UTMB Correctional Managed Care. EQUIPMENT: Artificial kidney and dialysis delivery systems. Standard laboratory testing and sterilizing devices. - Assists in the medical evaluation of the patient pre-dialysis, including assisting with recording of patients vital signs, weight, general condition and special problems. - Correctly sets-up and operates dialysis equipment. Reports equipment problems to the Unit Nurse Manager, Nursing Supervisor, Charge Nurse Chief Technician or Hemodialysis Staff Nurse. - Performs preventive maintenance and quality control. - Correctly documents and troubleshoots on the EMR. - Makes safety checks on equipment and initiates ad terminates the hemodialysis treatment. - Assists in obtaining all lab work and tests ordered by the Nephrologi...
