Job description

Position Function: Manages, plans, supervises, schedules, and assigns the work of electricians; coordinates the activities of the electrical staff. Services and maintains the high voltage electrical distribution system for the University. Salary Grade : 17: Please see Staff Compensation Structure or Skilled Crafts and Service Maintenance Compensation Schedule for salary ranges. For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Estimates, plans, supervises and coordinates work projects by assigning crews or electricians to specific jobs. 2. Gives input regarding the creation of a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule. 3. Supervises, schedules, and assigns the work of the electricians and outside contractors; Manages their work to assure proper staffing and quality standards. 4. Manages departmental time which includes overtime, stand by, and call back work for electrical employees. 5.
