Heavy Equipment Mechanic (M-F 7:30am-4:00pm)

Set Pay Rate: $29.90 per hour SHIFT: 7:30am-4:00pm: Job Summary: Performs labor associated with repairing and maintaining heavy equipment. Position requires strong interpersonal skills and compassion and respect for persons with disabilities. Essential Functions: - Comply with all Agency policies and procedures and follow contract specifications - Perform all assigned work daily in accordance with contract specifications. - Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects - Determine extent of repairs required for heavy equipment - Analyze malfunctions and repair, rebuild, and overhaul heavy equipment - Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges - Replace worn or broken parts - Replace defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions - Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hoists and hand tools - Test overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency - Fabricate and weld brackets, handrails, metal support columns, and beams - May direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment - Use and care for equipment and tools properly and comply with safety procedures - Track work orders...
