Baylor College of Medicine and Department Summary: The Section of General Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine is dedicated to excellence in patient care, education, scholarly activities, and community engagement. As general internists, we apply scientific knowledge, clinical expertise and compassion to prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment of adult patients with a broad spectrum of medical conditions. We care for diverse patients in primary care outpatient settings as well as hospitalized patients. Our collaborative interdisciplinary teams practice at Baylor Medicine Clinic, Baylor St. Luke's CHI Hospitals (Medical Center, Sugarland, Vintage, Woodlands), Harris Health System (Ben Taub Hospital and Smith Clinic) and Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The Margaret M. and Albert B. Alkek Department of Medicine is the largest adult practice department at Baylor College of Medicine.
