Asset Engineer

Job description

The Asset Engineer provides critical technical and operational support for our WGS (Waha Gas Storage) assets near Pecos, Texas. This role is a blend of project management, regulatory compliance, and operational optimization. The role will focus on support of storage caverns—from active gas storage and dehydration to the leaching and drilling of new salt cavern capacity—while additionally providing engineering support for our Permian Basin gas transmission assets. Job Responsibilities: Storage Cavern Operations (WGS) Midland Basin Asset Support (Delaware Basin Residue, Whistler, Matterhorn) - Capital Project Support: Support Project Manager’s overseeing projects involving cavern leaching, new well drilling, and topside facility expansions (Compression, TEG Dehydration). - Capacity & Planning: Develop gas storage capacity forecasts and conduct scenario planning to optimize cavern utilization and expansion timing. - Integrity & Compliance Support: Support regulatory audits and participate in well-control drills. - Commercial Support: Serve as a technical point of contact for inventory verification, fuel use optimization, and troubleshooting abnormal operating conditions. - Operational...
