The Baillie Group's Smyrna, NY sawmill is hiring for a hardwood log scaler / equipment operator. This is a great opportunity for an individual with prior scaling and/or log grading experience and experience operating heavy equipment. This person would be identifying log type, grade and scaling logs, as well as operating equipment. This is a full-time opportunity working for a world class hardwood lumber manufacturer. Hardwood Log Scaler/Equipment Operator Responsibilities: 1. Identify log types 2. Grade and scale logs 3. Operate heavy equipment and other equipment as needed 4. Work safely and help maintain a safe work environment Hardwood Log Scaler/Equipment Operator Qualifications: 1. Minimum of one (1) year experience scaling logs 2. Heavy equipment operation experience - specifically front end loader 3.
