Description Overview: The Laser and Materials Technology (LMT) Division presently consists of five groups including Laser Technology Development (LTD), Optical Materials Technology (OMT), Optical Manufacturing (OMAN), Laser System Projects (LSP), and MTW/MTW-OPAL Laser Facility Operations. The over 100 division members comprises a multidisciplinary of over 60 division members that develop and maintain technology, custom equipment, and the infrastructure needed to conduct research at LLE. The LMT Division Director will direct these groups to align activities with laboratory goals and will report to the LLE Director. The Division leader will serve as part of the senior management team of LLE. Responsibilities: - Direct assigned resources to conduct research, development and production of novel laser, optics, optical materials, and diagnostic technologies for LLE and other research facilities. - Direct assigned resources to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient operation of the MTW/MTW-OPAL Laser Facility and the FLUX (Fourth-generation Laser for Ultrabroadband eXperiments). - Working with other Division leaders and the Laboratory Director, develop the annual budget formulation pr...
