Plumber - Trainee - ( 26002635 ) Description University of Iowa Health Care department of Engineering Services, Plumbing Shop, is seeking a Plumber. This position will be full-time with a primary schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday including weekends and holidays as scheduled for on-call. Under general supervision, position applies knowledge and skill at the journey level to install and repair piping, fixtures, appliances, laboratory equipment, and apparatus related to gas, air, steam, water, drainage systems, and heating and cooling systems. CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Installs and repairs sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters and softeners, garbage disposals, sprinkler systems, traps, valves, pumps, meters, coils, laboratory equipment, drains, including cleaning drains, and other related piping and equipment. Tests, installs, and maintains water distribution piping and control equipment, fire hydrants, sanitary and storm sewer systems, gas piping, and related distribution systems equipment. Draws layouts.
