Job Summary The position is responsible for providing cultural interpretation and guidance to visitors to the Walter Soboleff Building. Duties/Responsibilities: - Greet visitors to the Walter Soboleff Building and provide guided tours of the Exhibits and the lobby/house front. - After extensive in-house training on Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian culture and traditions, provide cultural interpretation and guidance to visitors. - Answer questions of visitors. - Ensure visitors adhere to building and exhibit rules regarding food and drink. - Guide visitors through exhibits, explaining history and culture of Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian people as related to three interactive exhibits and Celebration juried art show. - Other duties as assigned. Required Skills: Supervisory Responsibility The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This position’s duties are performed at the Walter Soboleff Building. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
