Job description

Background: UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. The Ethics Specialist reports directly to the Executive Director while liaising, in the context of the day-to-day tasks, with the Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff. The Ethics Specialist assists the Executive Director in ensuring that UN Women personnel members observe and perform their functions with the highest standards of integrity through fostering a culture of ethics, transparency, accountability and mutual respect. The Ethics Specialist carries out UN Women Ethics function and is independent of any other official, division, office or other organizational entity in the performance of ethics-related responsibilities.
