Position: Tutor I - Physics Department: Academic Affairs: Type of Position: Part-time Temporary: Exemption Status: Non-Exempt: Work Schedule, Hours per week: Weekdays & Weekends Opportunity for hybrid schedule: No: Starting Salary Range: $16.31-$20.77 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume. Position Summary: Physics tutor provides academic support for challenging courses such as College Physics, Engineering Physics, Statics, Dynamics, and some courses in Electronics Technology. Tutor students through a variety of modalities and methods, refer students to other relevant resources, and assist with daily activities in the relevant resource center for Johnson County Community College (JCCC). Required Qualifications: - High School Diploma with successful completion of one year of undergraduate coursework in science and math in addition to specific Physics courses such as two semester sequence of calculus based introductory Physics. - One year of tutoring experience preferred. - Must be familiar with laboratory techniques. - Must be able to help with computer programs. - Require good communication skills, including listening with unde...
