This project is anticipated to last multiple years with exact timing to be determined by client requirements. The Occupational Health Nurse employs best practices that require early intervention and the setting of realistic expectations for disability duration, return-to-work, and return to functionality. Care coordination is a collaborative process that promotes quality of health care, client empowerment, and cost containment by supporting proactive intervention and reducing redundancies. The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for providing injury and illness case management and assisting with other occupational and environmental health services, as needed, while maintaining a professional and patient centered approach in an occupational setting.
