About Our Job The Denver Fire Department is seeking a qualified candidate for the Staff Accountant position. This role performs full-performance, professional-level governmental accounting work in support of the Department’s Wildland Firefighting Program. The position is located at Denver Fire Headquarters (745 W. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80204) and offers flexible working hours between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. A hybrid work schedule may be available after the completion of training. Selected candidates must successfully complete a background investigation, which includes a review of their employment and criminal history. Established in 1866, the Denver Fire Department (DFD) provides services to the citizens who live, work, and visit the City and County of Denver providing fire suppression, emergency medical services, technical rescue, hazardous materials response, water and high angle rescue. The Department's operating budget for 2026 is approximately $221 million.
