Job Description Summary & Additional Information Organization's Summary Statement: The School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (SLLC) seeks to investigate and engage with the linguistic, cultural, cinematic, and literary worlds of speakers of Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish, as well as questions surrounding language learning itself. SLLC offers undergraduate programs in the languages mentioned above in addition to Cinema & Media Studies and Global Cultures & Thought as well as traditional graduate programs in French, Spanish, and Second Language Acquisition and an MPS in Persian. We are also home to the Center for East Asian Studies, the Language House Living-Learning Program, the nation’s only Persian Flagship program, and the Summer Institute for Arabic, Korean, and Persian. The University of Maryland College Park world language program ranks in the Top 20 Foreign Language Schools in the United States and the Best Foreign Language School in Maryland.
