POSITION SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse is responsible for incorporating the College of Nurses of Ontario and unit-specific standards and competencies into nursing practice and is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team practicing as an advocate, educator and direct caregiver QUALIFICATIONS: - Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required. - Applicants who have current acute Surgical experience in Gynecology, Bariatric and GI will be given preference. Preference will be given to applicants with acute GI Medical experience. - Experience in specific skills is preferred i.e. PCA’s, epidurals, TPN, ostomy care, initiation and management of IV therapy. - Committed to the use of the nursing process and individualized care plans. - Current BCLS/HCP certification required - Demonstrated knowledge, sensitivity and expertise in the care of seniors and their families - Gentle Persuasive Approach training preferred - Demonstrated organizational abilities. - Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education. - Good attendance and work record is essential. - A resume regarding further education, special courses and experience shoul...
