General Statement of Job The Maintenance Technician I performs general corrective and preventive maintenance duties in campus buildings. Working on various types of equipment and systems including installations, operations and modifications as needed or assigned. Performs assigned task of minor carpentry, electrical and plumbing details. May assist in fire and safety areas of inspections and record keeping. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Duties: Performs corrective and preventive repairs on various types of equipment and mechanical systems. Dismantles equipment for servicing, repair or installation of replacement parts. Lubricates and cleans pumps, motors, fans, machinery and other mechanical equipment. Replaces washers, seals, packing or parts on faucets, water coolers, valves, and traps. Performs minor plumbing repairs of clearing stoppages in sanitary or storm drainage systems using augers snake, vacuum or manual plungers. May be required to install minor plumbing in Pex, PVC or copper as needed. Minor electrical in replacement lamps/bulbs, sockets, switches, ballasts, fuses, and receptacles in buildings or on the exterior areas of the campus. Performs labor dut...
