Title: Accountant State Role Title: Financial Services Spec I Hiring Range: $64,890 - $70,285: Pay Band: 4: Agency: Virginia Department of Health: Location: Dept of Health: Agency Website: https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/: Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties: Performs professional level work of moderate difficulty requiring the application of accounting theory and principles. Characteristic duties: develop methods of recording fiscal transactions, allocate funds, update and maintain accounting systems, independently prepare financial statements/reports/cost analyses, and develop and present budgets and other financial information for review. Other major duties: all functions of compensation accounting including assuring timely processing of payrolls, distribution of checks, preparing federal/state tax reporting, fringe benefits and premium conversion. May supervise or lead fiscal paraprofessionals and/or other support personnel. The Accounts Receivable team is located within the Virginia Department of Health’s Office of Financial Management (OFM).
